I love the idea that people who call out the problematic behaviour of content creators should \u201cmove on\u201d after some arbitrary time-frame that\u2019s decided by the content creator\u2019s supporters. If you don\u2019t \u201cget over it\u201d during this time-frame that some idiot pulled out of their crusty asshole, you are branded a stalker or a bully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When you call out problematic behaviour online and are met with denial in the form of repeated lies, gaslighting, threats and various insidious types of abuse or harassment, why would<\/strong> you just forget about it? Nothing has been resolved. There\u2019s been no accountability or, gasp, apology to the community. Instead, lie upon lie upon lie has been told while he weaponizes his fanbase against any detractors in order to intimidate them into silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I became so used to not having their vacuous, hypocritical shit pop up in my twitter feed, but here we are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fancy sitting on your high horses telling multiple women to \u201cmove on\u201d while in the same breath defending a man who has never<\/strong> exhibited the capacity to move on from anything<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The guy is still<\/strong> attacking an author he began attacking a year ago<\/strong>. He has recently been spreading misinformation to, once again, weaponize his fanbase (that\u2019s you lot) to retaliate against his ex-business partner because he\u2019s upset with her (boo-fucking-hoo), and an author because she had the audacity to replace his voice in her<\/strong> novel. Not his <\/strong>novel. HERS<\/strong>. Did any of you even legitimately want<\/strong> the version of the audiobook narrated by him? Or was it really just all about manufacturing outrage on his behalf and acquiescing in your desperate attempts to gain the favour of a man who only sees you as a play toy, a paycheck and a weapon to be wielded against the people who don\u2019t fall for his bullshit?<\/p>\n\n\n\n That\u2019s a rhetorical question. I honestly don’t give a shit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n My point being, the hypocrisy of his supporters is fucking astounding. It\u2019s one of the reasons I stopped engaging with the anon accounts ages ago. That and the fact they are lunatics hiding behind alts who are just regurgitating his same tired old bullshit into arguments that make virtually no sense. I enjoy verbal sparring as much as the next person but I can\u2019t stand wasting my time trying to argue with someone who cherry-picks and resorts to strawman fallacies to confuse and mislead the people who happen to be reading. You see, it’s never been about proving any of us wrong – they know they can\u2019t actually do<\/strong> that because, newsflash, we are telling the truth. It\u2019s about putting on a show for the people watching. It\u2019s about painting him as a victim and us as the aggressors when they are the ones doing the attacking. It’s about helping him continue a cycle of abuse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Sure, I have written a blog calling out a male content creator\u2019s problematic behaviour and I share my experiences as a former member of his community; thanks for reminding me it exists, btw, I just realised I haven’t updated in over a month. Interesting. They, on the other hand, have made multiple<\/strong> social media accounts dedicated to defending him by intimidating and attacking anyone who speaks out about his behaviour. I occasionally respond to a tweet here and there or point out lies when I see them. I\u2019m not running around engaging him, his anon accounts or his supporters. The women I care about and were concerned for have all gotten away from him. As far as I am concerned the people who remain are mostly<\/strong> ill-informed fans or sycophants. The moment I realized how delusional some of them are (still not <\/strong>a shifter romance author, btw) and how many of them were involved in the creation of lies or responsible for circulating them, unnecessarily complicating and diluting issues during what is already a fairly complicated and serious situation, I stopped wanting anything to do with any of them. At this point, if you have read all of the information available about Eros and the \u201ccommunity\u201d he created and you still choose to support him or turn a blind eye to everything that has been happening in that community for the past three years, you are a part of the problem<\/strong>. I’ve been attacked way too many times for things I haven’t done to offer anyone<\/strong> any grace at this point. I have no more sympathy when it comes to any of you. You are cowards who hide behind anonymity while lying about how it’s for your own “protection” when the truth is, you know that if you were identified your arguments would fall to shit in a heartbeat because you would be revealed for the hypocrites you are. You create fake accounts to continue targeting us. You’ve sent death threats. You sit in your group chats lying about us and spreading rumours. You’ve impersonated us. You’ve targeted another VA for simply doing their job and narrating a book. You attack people using ngls. You demand proof then scoff at it or make ridiculous justifications for dismissing it when it’s given to you. You demand women’s stories be shared by us, consent be damned. You are part of a mob attacking women for standing up against a man who was abusing his position as a content creator, and you revel in it. When you are proven to be wrong, when it is shown that you are on the wrong side of this, do we get apologies for the nasty shit you’ve all been aiming in our direction for a man (or woman) who think so little of you they don’t even afford you the truth? No. Of course not. Hell, if you’re me, you just get blamed and verbally assaulted for that too. People love a scapegoat. Anything to avoid taking any kind of responsibility for their own goddamn actions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If any of you don\u2019t like the fact that some of us might want to occasionally discuss the experiences we had while we were part of a community run by a male content creator who was taking advantage of his fanbase while lying through his damn teeth about, well, basically everything\u2026 maybe, I dunno, “get over it”? But, nah, we all know you enjoy it far too much to stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\t
This is an author he has attacked multiple times over the past year, both on his discord and on his public live stream. So, as you can imagine (unless you\u2019re a moron), she probably wanted nothing to do with him and decided to remove him from her<\/strong> novel \u2013 a novel he isn\u2019t even benefiting from financially. The only people who are<\/strong> benefiting from it financially are the author and the ex-business partner. So, when his fans complained that they might lose access to the original version of the book featuring his voice, true to form he spread his “alternative facts”, encouraging them all to request refunds – refunds that don\u2019t affect him at all. Refunds that only result in hurting those who worked on the novel and his fans; because, by requesting a refund, they lose access to the original version of the book<\/strong>. You know, the version they are all whining about losing access to. He knows this. He knows<\/strong> requesting a refund will remove his version of the audiobook from his fans libraries yet he is still encouraging them to request one \u201con principle\u201d, for reasons that don\u2019t even apply because he is pissed and bitter and scorned.
But sure, we<\/strong> should get over the fact we don\u2019t like it when men take advantage of women. Okay. I’ll get right on that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
